Dr. Grant Miyashiro was looking for a website that clearly represented his mission and vision. He also wanted something unique, that did not look like your standard "eye care website." Grant is as conscious of his Hawaiian heritage as he is of the environment. Using this as a starting point, we took his already existing logo, an Ohia tree (native to Hawaii) and conceptualized an immersive and natural user experience. By placing the Ohia blossom as a large background that fills the whole browser window, the site becomes pleasing to the eye, something intrinsically desirable to an optometrist.

TCA needed an easy to maintain and easy to upgrade solution. They chose Joomla 1.5 as their "engine". Re-designing the user experience was not top priority, so the site was kept very similar to the previous version. We quickly brought it up to standard and used some of Joomla's freely available modules to add features like a poll, latest news, a feed, etc. The project was given a special, non-profit rate, and we were glad to make a contribution to an arts organization.
